Logs in Selby

At ADS Timber, we supply quality hardwood logs in Selby and the surrounding areas, providing homeowners and businesses with a dependable source of locally produced timber for heating. Whether you need logs for a wood-burning stove, traditional open fireplace or another suitable wood-burning appliance, we offer seasoned hardwood logs in convenient quantities, including bulk bags and larger trailer loads.

With over 35 years of experience in forestry contracting and woodland management, we understand the importance of supplying properly processed timber. Unlike businesses that simply purchase and resell imported logs, we source much of our hardwood directly through our own forestry operations. This gives us greater control over the timber we supply and allows us to provide customers throughout Selby with a reliable, locally sourced product.

Seasoned Hardwood Logs for Sale in Selby

Choosing suitable hardwood logs is essential for achieving good heating performance from your wood-burning stove or fireplace. At ADS Timber, we supply seasoned hardwood logs that have been processed and air-dried to reduce their natural moisture content. Properly seasoned timber burns more efficiently than freshly cut wood, producing dependable heat while helping to reduce excessive smoke and unwanted deposits within heating appliances.

Our hardwood log supplies primarily include ash, beech and sycamore, all of which are established choices for domestic heating. These hardwood species offer good heat output and steady burning characteristics when adequately dried, making them particularly suitable for households that regularly use their fires throughout autumn and winter.

Whether you are purchasing your first supply of logs or replenishing your existing stock, we can discuss the available hardwood species, quantities and cutting lengths to help you find a suitable option for your property in Selby.

Hardwood Logs for Wood-Burning Stoves & Open Fires

Wood-burning stoves and open fireplaces remain popular heating features in homes throughout Selby and the surrounding villages. Whether your appliance provides additional warmth during colder evenings or forms an important part of your household heating arrangements, having a consistent supply of suitable logs makes a significant difference.

Our seasoned hardwood logs are suitable for a range of wood-burning applications, subject to the requirements of the individual appliance. Hardwood is particularly valued for its density and ability to provide sustained heat, making it a practical option for customers who want to avoid constantly replenishing their fires.

We understand that different stoves and fireplaces accommodate different log sizes. As we process our own timber, we can discuss alternative cutting lengths where practical, helping you obtain logs that are suitable for your particular heating appliance.

Bulk Bags & Trailer Loads of Logs in Selby

At ADS Timber, we offer flexible log supply options to accommodate different household requirements. Customers who use their wood-burning stoves occasionally may prefer a bulk bag of hardwood logs, while those who rely on wood heating more regularly may benefit from ordering a larger trailer load.

Purchasing logs in bulk can be a convenient way to prepare for colder weather, particularly if you have a suitable covered storage area. Keeping a sufficient supply available means you can avoid arranging repeated smaller deliveries during periods of increased demand.

We are happy to discuss the quantities currently available, the most appropriate supply option for your needs and the practical arrangements for delivery to your property. Whether you live in Selby itself or one of the surrounding rural communities, we aim to make ordering straightforward and convenient.

Locally Sourced Hardwood Logs from Experienced Forestry Contractors

One of the main reasons customers choose ADS Timber is our direct involvement in forestry and woodland management. Our work includes timber harvesting, tree felling, woodland thinning and other forestry operations, allowing us to recover suitable hardwood that can be processed into useful heating fuel.

By sourcing timber through our own operations, we can make effective use of locally available woodland resources rather than relying entirely on imported or externally processed logs. Our experience also means we understand the characteristics of different hardwood species and the importance of preparing timber appropriately before sale.

As an established, family-run business, we take pride in supplying quality products supported by practical industry knowledge. Our customers benefit from dealing with a company that understands every stage of timber production, from woodland management through to cutting and processing.

We supply hardwood logs throughout Selby and nearby communities, including Brayton, Barlby, Thorpe Willoughby, Hemingbrough, Hambleton, Camblesforth and the surrounding villages. Whether your property is situated in the town centre, a residential development or a more rural location, we can discuss delivery arrangements based on your requirements.

Our log delivery service is designed to provide customers with a practical way to purchase suitable quantities of hardwood without needing to arrange their own collection or transport. We can provide information about available stock, quantities and delivery arrangements when you contact us.

If you are unsure whether your property falls within our delivery area, please get in touch. We will be happy to discuss your location and confirm whether delivery can be arranged.

Preparing & Storing Your Hardwood Logs

Once your hardwood logs have been delivered, correct storage is important for maintaining their condition. Even seasoned timber can absorb moisture if left exposed to persistent rain or placed directly onto damp ground. We recommend storing logs in a sheltered, well-ventilated location where air can circulate freely around the timber.

A purpose-built log store is ideal, although other suitable covered storage arrangements can also work well. Keeping logs raised off the ground and protecting them from direct rainfall helps preserve their condition until they are needed.

Customers purchasing larger quantities of logs should consider their available storage space before ordering. Our team can discuss supply quantities so you can choose an option that suits both your heating requirements and the space available at your property.
